Morrison Headwaters

The Morrison Creek Headwaters, a 275-hectare area of exceptional ecological value, has been permanently protected, thanks to the support of donors, partners, and the public. This conservation milestone ensures that the headwaters, home to endangered species like the Morrison Creek lamprey and vital habitat for Coho salmon, will never be developed or logged.

The project was made possible by a combination of government grants, significant contributions from local families, and crowdfunding efforts, raising over $500,000. The property was purchased from Manulife Investment Management, and its protection is a vital part of the larger network of conserved lands in the region, including nearby areas like the K’omoks estuary.
