This map shows the gradient (or slope) of the stream channel in the watershed. Slope is an important characteristic because it determines, to a large extent, the type of habitat and velocity of water in the stream.

This map shows the observed beaver dams in the headwaters of Morrison Creek. There are likely many more than are shown here. Beaver dams provide many important ecological functions; including water storage for higher summer flows and lower peak flows and pool habitat for a variety of wildlife. The Bevan Water Supply Pipe carries spring water to the townsite for domestic use.
